Lancôme Absolue Nuit – Lancôme Hydra Zen: Gerresheimer displays brilliant gems for the personal care market

The current design market for personal care products is spoiled by Lancôme with two brilliant gems: Absolue Nuit Ultimate gleams in an all-gold get-up – Hydra Zen Neurocalm creates a relaxing impression with a spring-fresh combi¬nation of white and rose. Even in the richly stocked Gerresheimer show cases these two beauties look beyond compare (April 2-5, 2009, Hall 19, Stand C41-D42).

“The design combines classical aesthetic appeal unmistakably with innovative resourcefulness”, says the Communication and Marketing Head of the Gerresheimer Group, Burkhard Lingenberg: “In this way it reflects the prestige of this major brand as masterfully as the individual sophistication of the products.” In fact the two exhibits appear fundamentally different – in style and aura however recognizably related.

For Absolue Nuit the sun rises in a dream of warm, luxurious high gloss. A special color coating gilds the glass flacon of precious concentrate on all sides and even enshrouds the cap – printed black wording and the soft white of the suction pipette set carefully measured contrasts. Richly as the unusual little flacon is designed, it makes a discreet and graceful impression: From a basic cylindrical form a slim silhouette is created – tapering from the almost horizon¬tal shoulder downwards to the base in a gentle curve. From head to foot the elegant glass body is characterized by immaculate smooth¬ness. Without it the illusion of a pure gold vessel could not be achieved.

Beauty of a completely different sort distinguishes the presentation of Hydra Zen. The pot for this moisturizing cream is complemented by the screw closure to form half of an oval – a relatively small base reached from above in a generous curve and grey printing give the white-sprayed glass container a pleasant appearance of lightness. As a particularly attractive accessory the closure here contributes to the refreshing overall picture: its delicately shimmering metallic rose tint is thickly coated with clear plastic – almost as if cooling spring water were washing over the container.
