M-REAL TO ANNOUNCE NEW DEVELOPMENTS IN NON-WOVEN WALLPAPER GRADES AT HEIMTEXTIL 2009
Thursday 15. January 2009 - M-real, the worlds leading producer of wallpaper base, will be announcing new developments in its non-woven wallpaper range at Heimtextil 2009, building on the success of its most recently launched non woven grade, Cresta NG2.
“We have several development projects in progress to expand our product range, with emphasis on new non-woven grades,” says Ilkka Mutka, VP Speciality Papers Business, M-real Consumer Packaging. “The latest addition to our wallpaper base range, Cresta NG2, is already creating a stir in the market as it is ideal for the sort of creative designs appealing to todays consumers and interior designers.”
The company is showing its extensive product range including duplex and simplex wallpaper base as well as non-woven products for special applications. M-real provides a wide range of wallpaper base products for imaginative and practical designs of all types of wallcoverings.
As environmental issues are of increasing concern to customers, M-real will also show how it can provide carbon footprint calculations for all its products. M-reals calculations cover the manufacturing processes of pulp, board and paper, including purchased electricity, as well as the transportation of wood raw material, pulp and products.
M-reals commitment to sustainability continues with the implemention of the Climate Programme launched in 2008, targeting investment towards projects that produce immediate positive environmental impacts. As part of the programme, all M-real production units will have an energy efficiency system in place by the end of 2009. All its mills hold chain of custody certification from forest to product, and support the use of certified wood.
M-real Kyro mills PM3 (paper machine 3) is dedicated completely to wallpaper base production, having a total capacity of 105,000 tonnes per year. Investment by M-real in modern technology has resulted in continuous quality developments.
