ABB Press Automation for Bratislava
Wednesday 14. January 2009 - ABB has announced that Petit Press, Bratislava, and their parent company Verlagsgruppe Passau have selected ABB control and automation systems for their new WIFAG OF375S press in Bratislava, Slovakia.
ABB has also announced that Verlagsgruppe Passau has purchased an upgrade to its MPS Production press management system at their site in Prague, Czech Republic.
ABBs scope of supply for the press at Petit Press includes two control consoles, an MPS Production system and ABBs production tracking system MPS Insight. The MPS Production system will be supplied in a twin configuration and includes interfaces to the existing prepress systems for the importing of product definitions and also to Petit Presss CTP systems.
The commissioning begins at the end of September of this year with full production starting in January 2010.
Christian Villiger, Head of ABBs Center of Excellence Printing based in Baden, Switzerland, sees these new successes in a broader perspective. “These orders are a sign of a good partnership between ABB and the Verlagsgruppe Passau in Eastern Europe”, says Villiger. “They are also a clear signal that, despite the worldwide financial crisis, there is still a good market for integrated systems that offer top performance and significant productivity improvements.
