Xanté PlateMaker 5 XL Large Format CTP System Debuts at Graph Expo

Tuesday 28. October 2008 - 16-Up Process-Free and Chemical-Free, Affordable Polyester CTP System Produces Press-Ready Plates in One Minute

Xanté announces that the large format process-free, chemical-free polyester CTP system it showed as a design concept at drupa will debut in North America at Graph Expo 2008. The PlateMaker 5 XL is a total prepress system which images 16-up polyester plates and paper proofs up to 914 mm x 1219 mm (36″ x 48″). Powered by Xanté’s Symphony Workflow, the all-in-one PDF workflow preserves file content and automates prepress tasks such as imposition and trapping.
Press-Ready Plates in Approximately One Minute
The PlateMaker 5 XL will be the next addition to the renowned PlateMaker 5 CTP series. The toner-based polyester platemaking solution is earth-friendly and requires no plate processing chemicals. Polyester plates up to 914 mm x 1219 mm (36″ x 48″) can be imaged in about one minute and placed directly on the printing press, without any further processing. The Platemaker 5 XL is designed for single color and spot color work. Plus, the 16-up large format capability makes it an affordable and appealing solution for the newspaper and book publishing industry.
Durable, High Quality Plates
Xanté will demonstrate the PlateMaker 5 XL using Myriad Polyester Plates in bulk rolls. Produced for more than 10 years, Myriad Polyester Plates have proven reliability and accuracy. Excellent hydrophilic properties provide fast roll-up and a durable, scratch-resistant plate surface ensures long-lasting use.
Built Upon Proven PlateMaker Technology
The PlateMaker CTP series has been one of the most successful Xanté product lines since the initial release in 1995. Based upon proven PlateMaker technology, the PlateMaker 5 XL will produce large format, long run, process-free and chemical-free plates.
“We have had excellent feedback since we showed the concept for the PlateMaker 5 XL at drupa. Now we are announcing that we’ve finished the product and met our goal to develop an affordable, fast, reliable, process-free and chemical-free, large format CTP system,” says Xanté CEO, Robert Ross.
The PlateMaker 5 XL is being featured at Graph Expo 2008 in Chicago from October 26 – 29.
