CTP - Computer to Plate
The Krause Program for IfraExpo 2008
Friday 17. October 2008 - At Ifra in Amsterdam, Krause will manifest its CTP technology leadership with further world exclusives for CTP application.
With up to 350 plates per hour, the new LS Jet 350 is by far the fastest CTP Violet platesetter. The BlueFin CF processor complements the LS Jet to the best Violet polymer newspaper system, also for environmentally friendly chemical-free production. With the XJet, Krause introduces a CTP platesetter for waterless newspaper offset printing with the KBA Cortina.
The SmartnEasy entry system with its extensive software integration is the ideal solution for the step to CTP. Starting from workflow over platesetter and processor to the punch/bender, Krause offers a completely integrated exposing system.
Since decades Krause gains attention through groundbreaking novelties and innovations for the newspaper market. Also at this years IfraExpo, Krause presents another innovation: the Krause XJet platesetter with its combination of quality, engineering excellence and design represents the perfect solution for waterless offset printing with the KBA Cortina.
“Our technology leadership in the newspaper CTP segment will again be underlined with this extension of competence by Krause. The demand and interest of our customers for waterless offset printing as another business segment and to increase the print quality has also gained our interest for this application. The XJet is now the promising result of our ambition to offer a solution for this technology”, says Dr.-Ing. Hans-Jürgen Wessel – Managing Director at Krause-Biagosch. After successful field tests this machine will be available for sale from now on.
The Violet CTP platesetter highlight – the Krause LS Jet – will be presented at Ifra with the latest chievements as the faster LS Jet 350.
“Since its introduction in 2002, for us the LS Jet is still the technology platform for newest components in Violet CTP platesetting. The new LS Jet 350 gains more speed with a faster polygon, a 160 mW Violet Laser and a quicker NetLink Data interface”, states Dipl-Ing. Thomas Richter – Technical Director at Krause-Biagosch.
The upgrade results in even faster exposer at resolutions from 1,200 to 1,270 dpi, which enables more platesetting capacity as well as optimal utilization of the processor and punch/bending unit.
Having long been a topic for Krause, the chemical-free plate production is short before its broad introduction into the global market. With the LS Jet highspeed platesetter and the new chemical-free BlueFin CF plate processor, Krause shows the way into the future of CTP.
The successful BlueFin plate processor will be extended into an extensive product family. For the future chemical-free Violet plates, there will be a completely new, chemical-free version of the BlueFin with smaller dimensions, without preheat and rinsing section. The chemical-free cleaning of polyer plates is very environmentally friendly and offers the same on press performance without compromises in print run or quality. As the topic of environmentally-friendly production is and will be an important aspect for the investment decision and the public acceptance of newspaper production in the future, Krause has been putting much attention to this matter. The Krause staff is more than happy to discuss the chances and potentials of this new technology with you. The chemical-free CTP line will also be presented at the Fujifilm booth (booth 11100) together with the new Fujifilm Pro-V Violet, chemical-free printing plate.
Besides the BlueFin with a normal working width of 650 mm, the BlueFin 1250 will be introduced, which is ideal for larger plate formats of the Krause LS Asia platesetter as well as for commercial formats. The small energy consumption and the low operating costs of a BlueFin are clear advantages in comparison to other processors on the market.
For the US – American market, where the Krause LS Jet platesetter and the BlueFin processor are well established, Krause will launch the BlueFin XS for smaller plate sizes. The trend for smaller web widths and plate sizes of 270 mm is now supported with the BlueFin XS for secure processing of smaller plates.
As a worldwide partner of the printing industry, Krause also delivers exposing systems in large parts of Asia. For the large asian formats, Krause offers XXL platesetters in different performance classes. For the first time ever, the Krause highspeed platesetter LS Asia will be presented at an exhibition, integrated into a punch/bending solution at the 2B company booth (booth 11600).
Last years IfraExpo 2007 prototype of the SmartnEasy CTP entry system has been improved and field-tested. The now completely integrated and flexible solution from PDF data to the punched and bended printing plate will be shown as Krauses contribution to cost-efficient system integration for local newspapers which are to invest into or replace existing CTP equipment.
Krause will also present news at Ifra for its workflow solutions. The JetNet workflow offers again more functionality for more comfort in workflow automation. With the new module InkAdjust, colour conversion of the data is possible, so that colour savings in the printing process can be realised by the JetNet user. With the PressProof module, a colour proof can be integrated as a softproof into the press control center. Time-consuming hard copy output can be eliminated.
With increased competences, leading technologies and many ideas for the future, Krause is very optimistic for Amsterdam and looks forward to your visit.
