FRENCH NATIONAL PRINTING PRESS “IMPRIMERIE NATIONALE” SELECTS IMPIKA FOR THE PRINTING OF THE NEW CAR REGISTRATION LICENSES
Wednesday 09. July 2008 - The "Imprimerie Nationale" purchased from Impika, word leader of industrial inkjet printing, a complete printing line, for the edition and personalization of the new car registration licences
French company Impika has been chosen by the Imprimerie Nationale to provide an exclusive turnkey solution for the printing and customization of new car registration licenses (cartes grises). This is part of the new car registry system (Système d’Immatriculation des véhicules or SIV).
“Our key requirements were flexibility and innovation. Not only did Impika demonstrate its capacity to satisfy all project specifications perfectly, but their teams creativity and the scalability of their all-in-one solution are what made the difference. Impika’s experience in the field of security documents (passports, identity cards) in the European market was also a decisive element,” says Mr. de la Cochetière, President and CEO of the Imprimerie Nationale.
Impika adapted its offer to the Imprimeries need for double-sided printing and customization. The printing line also includes a new set of modules specifically designed for the project for the varnishing, embossing and folding processes. Reels will spin at a speed of 75 m a minute for the pre-printed cartes grises before being customized and sent out.
“Our experience and expertise in high speed, high resolution inkjet printing enabled us to design a modular solution to best suit the needs of the Imprimerie Nationale. Not only is the deal a major step forward for our business, but we are also very proud to become a supplier for this national institution. This application will serve as an ideal showcase for our advanced technology, “says Impika CEO Paul Morgavi.
