Big D Teams With Domino For Increased Packaging Flexibility

June 2008 - Trigon Snacks, producer of snack foods including the Planters and Big D brands, has recently invested in upgrading its printing equipment, with the purchase of eleven Domino V100 high-speed thermal transfer printers, which will increase the flexibility of its operations and allow significant cost savings to be made in the long term.
Dominos V-Series, a reliable high quality thermal transfer overprinting (TTO) product range, produces clear legible codes on to flexible packaging and is ideal for Trigon Snacks high volume packaging applications using form, fill and seal machines.
Installed as a rolling order over the course of eleven weeks, the V100 printers will primarily be used for printing weights and bar codes onto packs in the Big D nuts range, which has recently undergone a dramatic makeover to include an upgraded logo and vibrant new packaging.

Achieving a print resolution of 300dpi, Dominos V-Series range, which also includes the V200, V400 and V300+, is capable of applying high quality variable data including text, barcodes, Data Matrix codes and logos onto a wide range of flexible packaging materials. The V100 is suited to intermittent applications, offers a large marking area and can be mounted on a variety of packaging machines, making it suitable for many key food applications.
Powerful printer control and on-board label creation are provided by the V-Series controller, which can be networked for remote operation and is also compatible with a variety of external label creation and networking solutions. Ribbons for V-Series printers are available in a variety of grades, colours and widths and provide excellent performance for a wide range of web materials and industry applications.
