World’s First Format 8 Perfector

Saturday 31. May 2008 - The first ROLAND 900, XXL perfector goes to the Himmer AG printing company in Augsburg, Germany.

With its ROLAND 900, XXL, manroland is the first supplier worldwide that can process sheetfed formats up to a maximum paper format of 1300 x 1850 millimeters for perfecting printing. This development reinforces the press manufacturer’s position as technology leader in large formats and offers customers groundbreaking concepts. The perfecting press is designed for super large format in order to open up new market opportunities for printing companies in the face of stiff competition. The press’s biggest advantages are its lower costs per copy, shorter job throughput times, and simplified material logistics.

XXL flagship at drupa
The new 7B plus format, which offers a productivity advantage of up to 20 percent compared to the 7B format, has been successfully launched on the market. manroland has thus decided to exhibit an XXL press in 7B plus format (1260 x 1620 millimeters) at drupa in Düsseldorf, Germany. The press features world firsts: the ROLAND InlineColorPilot and the fully automatic plate change APL.

Striding ahead in large format
manroland has been producing printing presses in large format for approximately 75 years. The press manufacturer took its first step in large format sheetfed offset with the ROLAND Ultra 7, 7B. A thousand ROLAND four-color presses were delivered by 1968. The ROLAND 900 has been setting pace on the market for 13 years as the leading press in format 6. “Even looking proudly back on a long tradition in large format, we don’t rest on our laurels. We focus on our customers’ requirements and continue to develop groundbreaking innovations to give them a competitive edge on the market,” emphasizes Dr. Markus Rall, Board Member Business Unit sheetfed at manroland.
