Ricoh Introduces New Pro 906EX/Pro 1106EX/Pro 1356EX Digital Imaging Systems

Wednesday 28. May 2008 - New Series Designed to Better Address Needs of Production Printing Market

Ricoh Americas Corporation today launched the new Ricoh Pro 906EX/Pro 1106EX and Pro 1356EX Digital Imaging Systems. These systems are the first in a series designed to better meet the needs of the demanding production marketplace and support the document management needs of Central Reproduction Departments (CRD), Print for Pay and Data Center environments by providing seamless integration of printing, copying and scanning functionality.

“The needs and requirements of the production printing marketplace are constantly changing, and becoming more complex,” said Hede Nonaka, executive vice president, marketing, Ricoh Americas Corporation. “Ricoh developed this advanced new series to not only address, but exceed, the demands of the production market — providing more advanced functionality and finishing capabilities to help businesses stand out from the competition.”

Built upon proven technology, the series demonstrates reliability, high performance, improved ease-of-use, and better flexibility. Speed is a critical component of the systems’ performance capabilities. The Pro 1356EX is the fastest MFP on the market today, printing at the speed of 135 pages per minute (ppm). The Pro 906EX and the Pro 1106EX print at impressive speeds of 90-ppm and 110-ppm, respectively. In addition, the Pro 906EX/Pro 1106EX and Pro 1356EX series incorporates high-speed color and black and white scanning. In regards to durability, performance is enhanced with a duplex inverter and stapling performance is improved with a triple pre-stack capability.

Ease-of-use is also built into the design of the Pro 906EX/Pro 1106EX/Pro 1356EX series with a large color touch panel display, preview capability on document server and delivery scanner, a universal design for paper trays and displays as well as versatile editing functions.

Advanced security options were integral to the development of the Pro 906EX/Pro 1106EX/Pro 1356EX series including a DataOverwriteSecurity System (DOSS), where latent images on the internal hard drive can be removed, an Unauthorized Copy Control feature that protects sensitive documents with an embedded message that appears if a document is copied and a Removable Hard Drive (RHD) that allows the hard drive to be removed and stored to prevent unauthorized access.

The multi-faceted finishing options set the series apart from the competition and address the need for more targeted finishing capabilities. The new Ring Binder RB5000, a Ricoh exclusive, is the industry’s first fully automatic in-line ring binding system, binding up to 100 sheets at a time without the need for any off-line finishing. The new Perfect Binder GB5000, available shortly after initial launch, produces professional looking perfect bound books up to 400 pages (in duplex mode) complete with full-bleed covers.

By combining high-speed production with advanced document management and finishing capabilities, the Pro 906EX/Pro 1106EX/Pro 1356EX series is ideal for the creation of booklets, training manuals, newsletters, marketing guides, and presentations. Features such as the optional dual tray Interposer, which allows for the integration of preprinted or color output into the job stream, along with versatile finishing options including saddle stitch and multi-hole-punch capabilities, enable users to produce professional-grade documents.

The Pro 906EX/Pro 1106EX/Pro 1356EX is available at a suggested retail price of $39,000, $50,000 and $60,000, respectively.
