New features in web monitoring and web inspection with ELSCAN OMS 4

Friday 16. May 2008 - Erhardt+Leimer has further developed web monitoring options creating new customer benefits based on state-of-the-art digital technology and highest functionality.

These new features are based on a new camera head developed by Erhardt+Leimer. The camera has no components that are moved. The operator concept based on PC technology is new. A new area flash for diffuse lighting provides a homogeneous illumination of the printed surface which is important in particular with strongly reflective surfaces. The system integrates two cameras with fixed focus and different focal lengths. They capture the entire web and at the same time show an enlargement of the register mark – “Web Monitoring – view in view”.

The enlargement of the print image is direct and digital. It is absolutely reliable and there is no dead time. The switching process from one camera to the other is unnoticed by the user.

The time-tested, standard functionality of the ELSCAN concept remains unchanged, that is image stabilization, the simple selection of reference positions and the extended software version “Pro” are part of the system. The image navigation feature is new.

The ELSCAN family will continue to grow on the basis of these fundamental features. New modules will be added to always keep ELSCAN modern and up to date.
