Web inspection with automatic color comparison by master image and extended field of view. New software version for digital web monitoring by Erhardt+Leimer

Thursday 15. May 2008 - The software "color comparison" is best suited for the inspection of homogeneous color areas such as on logos and trademarks and for forms and packaging printing.

The color comparison requires that a master image is learned and analyzed. In the course of the analysis the master image is segmented into color areas of identical color shade and color intensity according to the CIE-LAB criteria. The segmented color areas can be deselected individually as required by production.

The alarm values for color deviations can be set individually. Digital outputs may be switched if an alarm value is exceeded. The LAB-deviations are shown as numeric values so that the operator can react immediately on the basis of this precise information. The master values in turn may be adapted to the actual requirements of production.

The software version “color comparison” is perfectly suited to monitor the register settings.

Another ELSCAN version will be exhibited with an extended field of view. This new member of the ELSCAN family is also based on the time-tested modular principle and functionality of the earlier ELSCAN systems. This new visual range is up to 200 x 156 mm or 8 x 6 inches big, that is it is 4 times as large as with the standard version. For these applications special attention was directed to the flash design to guarantee perfect lighting.
