Riston Marks 40 Years of Electronics Innovation
Monday 12. May 2008 - DuPont Printed Circuit Materials, part of DuPont Electronic Technologies, celebrates the 40th anniversary of DuPont Riston dry film photoresist this year, as it introduces new offerings for the fine feature imaging of printed wiring boards (PWBs).
DuPont Riston dry film photoresist revolutionized the way printed circuit boards were fabricated when it was invented by DuPont 40 years ago.
Since that time, a broad portfolio of Riston films has been developed for use in every major PWB application, and the brand has consistently led the market as technology demands and processes have evolved. The newest additions to the portfolio include DuPont Riston LDI7000 Laser Direct Imaging dry film photoresist for direct imaging tent-and-etch applications, and DuPont Riston PlateMaster 300 dry film photoresist, designed for fine feature pattern plating. More new Riston films will be introduced later this year.
“Riston was the first dry film photoresist for PWB imaging. It set the standard for the industry and is still recognized as a leader,” said Mark Dirks, global marketing manager, DuPont Printed Circuit Materials. “Forty years of demonstrated commitment to the PWB industry has driven dedicated research and development, quality manufacturing, global market reach, and the technical and customer service expertise that has made Riston an electronics essential. Through continued and close collaboration with our customers, Riston will remain one of their key success factors for many years to come.”
