Hönle Acquires the Drying Specialist Eltosch
Friday 09. May 2008 - - Hönle advances to become the second largest systems suppliers on the growth market for industrial UV technology - 20 million increase in annualized consolidated revenue to 65 million - Tapping into a direct access to sheet-fed offset press manufacturers
Dr. Hönle AG acquires all shares in Hamburg-based Eltosch Torsten Schmidt GmbH from Advanced Photonics Technologies AG and, in so doing, continues to expand its position as a systems provider on the industrial UV technology market. After this acquisition Hönle considers itself to be the second-largest systems provider worldwide on this fast-growing market.
Eltosch is among the leading companies in drying technology for printing machines. For more than 30 years now, the company has been engaged in developing, producing and selling UV, infrared, and hot-air dryers, which are primarily used in the offset printing industry. The company generated revenue of more than 20 million with about 60 employees in the past financial year.
The Eltosch acquisition increases the Hönle Groups market share in offset printing considerably. At the same time, it provides Hönle with direct access to the sheet-fed offset industry. Renowned companies in the printing industry are among the key customers with whom, in some instances, long-standing strategic partnerships have developed.
The acquisition is intended to achieve a sustained increase in the EBIT margin of Eltosch GmbH through synergy effects in the production, development, sales and administration segments.
Hönle aims at an EBIT margin of approximately 10% for Eltosch GmbH by the end of financial year 2010/2011.
With revenue of 26.2 million in financial year 2006/2007, annualised consolidated revenue rises to about 65 million, taking the acquisitions realised into account (Panacol Group, PrintConcept GmbH and Eltosch GmbH). The Hönle Group employees just under 300 people worldwide
