Bodoni releases pressSIGN-Pro

Tuesday 29. April 2008 - Automatic colour control on press

With over 300 Bodoni solutions installed in Europe and the US, pressSIGN is recognised as the answer for companies who want to meet interantional printing standards.

pressSIGN-Pro now makes it even easier for printing companies to maintain quality. Each time a sheet is scanned by a device like X-Rite’s Intellitrax S pressSIGN-Pro shows the adjustments necessary to hit the international printing standard.

pressSIGN-Pro will be unveiled at Bodoni’s stand at Drupa, Hall 7 7c

pressSIGN’s success is based on its intuitive user interface that makes it easy for all those involved in production to meet the quality targets they set themselves including ISO 12647, GRACol etc..

The new pressSIGN-Pro automatically accepts CGATS data from a variety of spectral reading devices. pressSIGN monitors the ouput from such devices as X-Rite’s Intellitrax S, Komori PCDS, Heidelberg’s ImageControl and more.

As the operator scans the press sheet pressSIGN immediately shows how close that sheet is to ISO 12647-2, -3, -4,-6, GRACol or a user defined standard. Users can create their own standards using an ICC profile, a single or a set of average measured sheets or by typing in their own values.

pressSIGN-Pro operates anywhere across the internal network and therefore allows anyone to monitor the performance of the press.

pressSIGN-Pro shows the operator how to adjust the density settings to meet the Lab target values for the primaries and how to adjust their plate curves. By attaching an X-Rite Eye-One users can take individual measurements from anywhere on the sheet; measure and compare Lab values, density, dot area, trapping and overprints.

pressSIGN is available in three different versions. pressSIGN-Pro, pressSIGN and pressSIGN-Printbuyer these different versions range in price from £295 to £2,295.
