Enticing energy from Diesel bottles

Well-dressed Gerresheimer flacons filled with 'Fuel For Life': Fragrances with a zip closure and an eye-catching net

Tuesday 22. April 2008 - Well-dressed Gerresheimer flacons filled with 'Fuel For Life': Fragrances with a zip closure and an eye-catching net

The label ‘Diesel’ doesn’t necessarily mean fuel for motor engines: up-to-the-minute glass flacons from Gerresheimer are currently filled with ‘Fuel For Life’. The globally popular denim and fashion brand Diesel is launching its new fragrance experience for men and women in stylishly clothed flacons. Gerresheimer displays the energy-packed perfume duo at Cosmopack in Bologna (April 10 – 13, 2008, Hall 19, Stand C/41-D/42).
The shallow flacon shape in retro style is almost the same for male and female Diesel aficionados. With casually sloping shoulders falling from the neck over the beautifully rounded body to the narrow base, it feels good in the hand in either the 50-millilitre or 75-millilitre form. How, despite a high level of coordination, two completely individual, gender-specific perfume personalities can be created is strikingly revealed by the Diesel design: “In a young, very playful and creative way it communicates strong messages for the brand – reflecting the sensuality of its fashion, its love of detail and the casual individuality of its male or female wearer “, says Burkhard Lingenberg, Director of Marketing and Communication for the Gerresheimer Group.
The masculine flacon is packaged from the neck down in the rustic used look of a tightly laced, leather-like vintage bag. In principle the flacon could keep this on of course – were it not for the zip closure fitted with extra-rough stitches on one side, perfectly matching the spray head in old brass. The zip option creates an irresistible urge to undress the flacon and reveal what is hidden underneath: pure crystal-clear glass with plastic letters in a textured relief on the front. Here for the fingers to touch is repeated what appears on the pale brown textile covering, namely the name of the brand and its fragrance, a prominent content statement and the slogan which accompanies Diesel’s ‘Fuel For Life’ in all its presentation forms: ‘Use with caution’.
The feminine flacon variant appears with the same warning and an equally delightful get-up. It wears an exciting confection of open-mesh woven lace, topped by a shining gold cap. With this elastic garment – revealing more than it hides – all thoughts of zips are forgotten. In iridescent gloss print changing from gold through copper to coffee brown, the striking label gleams through the ivory-white textile net, to which the eye is irresistibly drawn. For behind the deliciously shimmering glass the appearance of the delicately tinted liquid gold of the perfume creates a uniquely alluring temptation.
