CTP - Computer to Plate
The Repository Selects Presteligence for Workflow Solutions
Monday 21. April 2008 - The Repository (Canton, Ohio) purchased NewsXtreme, Xtreme Inking, and various other applications from Presteligence to help in their transition to CTP.
Located just a few miles from Presteligence, The Repository has been a long standing GUSS customer, and as a print site for New York Times, they have used Blackmagic for color calibrated proofing for several years. The existing relationship and quality products and support were determining factors in the The Repositorys decision of NewsXtreme.
The Repository will utilize all of the mainstream functionalities of NewsXtreme including the ability to import their product plan from ALS. The 65,400 circulation paper intends on utilizing NewsXtremes commercial soft proofing feature which allows customers to access page proofs outside The Repositorys internal firewall. Xtreme Inking will allow The Repository to automatically calculate their ink values to their GOSS press control system saving immensely on start up time and costs of ink and paper.
The Gatehouse Media property is slated for installation in May before the installation of two Kodak Trendsetters. The Repository sale tails Presteligences recent deals during Nexpo with Altoona Mirror (Xtreme Inking) and Light & Champion (NewsXtreme LITE).
