DTI launches MediaHarbor
Thursday 17. April 2008 - Digital Technology International, the newspaper industrys leading source for integrated news media business software systems, today introduces MediaHarborTM, an enterprise-wide SaaS (software as a service) hosted platform. MediaHarbor provides hosted environments for the full suite of DTI solutions, including editorial, advertising, Web publishing and circulation.
With MediaHarbor, DTI customers will benefit from reduced overall costs, no large up-front capital investment and faster implementations and upgrades. This hosted solution will also make day-to-day hardware and systems maintenance a thing of the past. Due to the extensive amount of ancillary solutions around core DTI applications, customers will be able to quickly adopt new solutions to their existing workflows.
“The current challenges facing newspapers are more fundamental than any time before,” said Don Oldham, DTI CEO. “DTI has always responded with necessary innovations to help keep our newspaper partners ahead of the game. Through economies of scale, MediaHarbor will contain or lower current operational costs and enable newspapers to adopt the new solutions they need to transform their business models without upfront capital expenditures. They can pay as they reap the benefits.”
With MediaHarbor, DTI will manage all of the solutions and databases from a central, 100% uptime location. Customers will access the solutions via a Web browser, with the same user experience as accessing the solutions from a local database.
Rather than making large capital investments in software and hardware when implementing a new system or making a significant upgrade, customers will simply pay a monthly fee. The software and hardware will be hosted and managed by DTI, making upgrades, installations and training much faster and simpler than ever before.
MediaHarbor is configured as a single tenant installation – each customer will be managed from their own database applications. Through this configuration, MediaHarbor runs in a 100% uptime environment. It also has contingencies in place as fail over to ensure absolute continuity in your business.
DTI can seamlessly integrate any third-party applications into MediaHarbor through Liquid MediaTM, an innovative integration technology that enables newspapers to seamlessly share their information and creative assets throughout the enterprise and through any form of media. Through Liquid Media, newspapers can flow data into any system, existing or new, regardless of platform.
