Zebra ADDS NEW WOMENS GLOSSY TO ITS LIFESTYLE PORTFOLIO WITH LAUNCH OF SHAPE FROM RIVER PUBLISHING
Tuesday 08. April 2008 - Award winning prepress company, Zebra, has extended its lifestyle portfolio after River Publishing awarded it the reprographics contract for womens monthly lifestyle title, Shape, whose launch edition went on sale on the 2nd of April.
River Publishing appointed London-based Zebra to manage the prepress for the title due to its six-year record of delivering a high quality, flexible, fast and reliable service to the leading magazine publisher.
Shape, a health and lifestyle title aimed at 30-something women, is sized slightly under A4. The first edition has a print run of 150,000 and was produced by St Ives in Plymouth. The 148-page title required Zebras expertise in image retouching and colour management.
River Publishing production director, Nigel Mackay, said: “We have worked with Zebra for a long time – its not just a trusted supplier, but part of the River Publishing team. Shape needed Zebras extensive creative experience to ensure quality, as a glossy magazine like this uses a lot of images, many of which need retouching. The reason we chose Zebra for Shape is because it has a proven track record delivering a quality service and excellent colour management within tight deadlines.”
Daniel Simpson, sales director at Zebra says: “To be entrusted with Shape by River Publishing is extremely rewarding as it demonstrates the value of our commitment to provide outstanding customer service and delivering a quality product. Womens glossy magazines demand a high degree of work in terms of retouching images, which can be from a variety of sources such as stock libraries or different photographers. Image fidelity is everything, particularly with a launch edition, and getting it right is a test of our ability to retouch and manage colour-critical files.”
Zebra also provides reprographic services for a number of other River Publishing titles including customer magazines for WeightWatchers, Harrods, Holland & Barrett, Superdrug and Honda.
