HP SmartStream Production Plus Print Server, Powered by Creo
Thursday 13. March 2008 - The HP SmartStream Production Plus Print Server, Powered by Creo, provides general commercial printing functionality within the HP SmartStream print server portfolio.
Designed for general commercial printers, the print server offers added value and a complete graphic arts feature set for out-of-the-box job control and editing in single- and multiple-press environments. Building on the production capabilities of the HP Indigo Production Stream Server, the new HP SmartStream Production Plus Print Server is compatible with HP Indigo commercial sheetfed presses, including the new HP Indigo 7000 Digital Press.
The HP SmartStream Production Plus Print Server is the next-generation print server and IT solution for HP Indigo general commercial print applications, including brochures, direct mail, books and manuals, and light photo merchandise.
With a host of new features designed to increase productivity and profit potential for commercial print service providers, this new server is a complete digital front-end (DFE) solution offering high performance through a scalable rack architecture, as well as support for Personalized Print Markup Language (PPML), Variable Print Specification (VPS), Optimized PDF and Postscript formats. Among the innovative offerings are tools for Job Definition Format (JDF) ticketing, full ICC and GCR color management, spot-color editing and pre- and post-raster image processing (RIPing) enhancement.
New features developed exclusively for the HP SmartStream Production Plus Print Server include advanced color support of HP Indigo 5-7 spot color emulation, enhanced imposition and trapping tools, support for multiple-substrate automation, and advanced hybrid offset/digital production support.
The server is available in three configurations: An IN100 model to support the HP Indigo Digital Press 7000, and IN040 and IN080 models that support the HP Indigo presses 5xxx, 3xxx and UltraStream, with the IN040 configured to support one press and the IN080 model configured to support two presses simultaneously.
