Caraustar Joins Sustainable Packaging Coalition

Wednesday 12. March 2008 - Caraustar Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSAR), a recycled packaging company and one of North America's largest integrated manufacturers of converted recycled paperboard, further embraced its 70-year history of preserving the environment by joining the Sustainable Packaging Coalition (SPC).

Vice President of Sales for Caraustar’s Converted Products Group, Mark I. Maley, said, “Caraustar has always been a socially and environmentally responsible company. Our SPC membership sends a stronger message to all of our stakeholders and customers of our promotion and dedication, complemented by our actions that we implement throughout Caraustar, to preserve the environment. It also gives us an opportunity to share our sustainable practices and our mission with other companies, while at the same time gain greater scope of their environmental applications.”
