The International Cooperation for the Integration of the Processes in Prepress, Press and Postpress (CIP4) organization today announced that it will hold a day of free seminars on Sunday, March 9th in Spa Belgium just prior to and in conjunction with a week-long series of CIP4 members-only meetings and interoperability testing events. These seminars will be hosted by GamSys Software at the Radisson SAS Palace Hotel in Spa and are open to anyone interested in learning how CIP4’s Job Definition Format (JDF) works. The seminars are also free to the public; all that is required is that attendees register online in advance
There are two seminar sessions. The first, running from 9:00 AM until Noon, will provide an introduction to JDF itself; including how JDF structures are built, how JDF workflows are assembled and more. This first session is suitable for anyone interested in automating printing and publishing processes with JDF-enabled tools.
In the afternoon, a Developers’ seminar and forum will be help from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM. This forum has been designed for engineers and technically savvy users including first time interoperability testing event participants, technically interested users, workflow consultants, and developers who are new to JDF. Topics will include:
* Prepress, Press and Postpress with JDF,
* Management Information Systems,
* Interoperating and ICS Documents,
* CIP4 Toolkits for JDF and JMF,
* JMF Messages, and More!
“CIP4 has offered these sessions before in English and they are invaluable to anyone that is tackling JDF for the first time, whether printers trying to implement JDF integration or companies trying to create JDF-enabled products for the first time,” said GamSys’ Patrick Vreven. “It’s also a chance to meet some of the key technologists responsible for the JDF Specification and get questions that you may have about JDF answered directly. GamSys is proud to be able to host these sessions in French for the French speaking printing community in Europe. These seminars will printers in France and the Benelux areas establish the fundamental understanding they need to move forward with their own print automation programs.”
Dr. Rainer Prosi of Heidelberg, and CIP4’s Technical Director will lead both the morning and the afternoon sessions and will be accompanied in the afternoon by several CIP4 working group chairs from other member companies. Individuals that wish to attend should register online
