Kodak Sponsors Construction of a House through New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity

Monday 11. February 2008 - A contribution of $85,000 from Kodak to New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity (NOAHH) will provide full funding to build a house in an area devastated by Hurricane Katrina. The sponsorship from the United States and Canada Region (US&C) of Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group (GCG) was announced during its annual sales kickoff event, which took place in New Orleans.

Once New Orleans was selected as the site for the kickoff event, the team from Kodak decided to make a charitable donation to help reconstruction efforts in lieu of allocating resources to major social activities.

“The determination of New Orleans’ citizens to rebuild one of America’s great cities and the support from people around the world serve as inspirations for what individuals and organizations can accomplish by working together,” said Dave Wigfield, Managing Director, US&C, GCG. “The revitalization of New Orleans reflects the message of our sales kickoff event, ‘Believe It To Achieve It,’ and we appreciate the opportunity to participate by providing this full house sponsorship.”

Wigfield and Michael Ciaramella, Vice President of Sales, US&C, Commercial and Transaction Printing, presented a check to Jim Pate, Executive Director of NOAHH, at the event’s awards evening that recognizes outstanding sales performance by individuals.

“Kodak’s generosity will not only help a family achieve home ownership, but also sustain stability in their life,” stated Pate. “Our donors and volunteers are what make what we do possible.”

Since Hurricane Katrina, NOAHH and its partners have completed 100 new homes and an additional 150 are underway. Construction of the Kodak sponsored house begins later this year. Employees of Kodak and its customers will be invited as volunteers to build this new home.
