John joins the DSPA from The British Coatings Federation, where he was responsible for commercial growth. With almost 27 years of coatings and chemicals experience, he has worked with some of the most prestigious global businesses, including ICI, BP Oil UK and Burmah Castrol Chemicals.

A proven track record for delivery against targets, and a specialism in the development of customer and stakeholder relationships made John is considered the ideal candidate to drive the UK association, further improve business growth and impart a wealth of blue chip commercial experience to benefit its members.

Peter Kiddell, president, DSPA comments: “We are delighted to have secured John’s appointment. We were looking for a high calibre, experienced, business professional to help steer the DSPA, and due to John’s strong background and hunger for the challenge, he was always our first choice.”

The DSPA is one of the 28 European national associations that are FESPA members. FESPA”s objective is the overall promotion of screen-printing and digital imaging and it does this through planning and promoting exhibitions and conferences, as well as fully supporting national association projects and activities.

John concludes: “I am looking forward to working for such an established and respected association and continuing to help UK specialist image providers to expand, whilst effectively managing association growth.

“The penetration of digital technology has created a chain reaction in printers who are embracing it while continuing to innovate and gain efficiencies within screen printing. The challenge is to add value through services and to deliver high quality print with ever-shorter turnarounds, at competitive prices. To enable our members to meet these challenges the DSPA will design and launch leading initiatives to enhance the performance of UK imaging specialists”
