Ancient House Press adds barrel inking to improve efficiency
Ancient House Press has installed barrel ink pumping on its 12-colour Mitsubishi Diamond 3000 tandem perfector.
Thursday 07. February 2008 - Ancient House Press has installed barrel ink pumping on its 12-colour Mitsubishi Diamond 3000 tandem perfector.
Operations director Paul Sadler says: “Pumped inks are the right choice. Environmentally we know that the supply and disposal of inks in this way is the better option while the cost of labour means that the filling of ink ducts by hand is an expensive alternative. Clearly there is a cost advantage in buying barrels as opposed to tins and as a company we need to be very aware of costs.”
Barrel pumped inking also reduces the level of waste. Ancient House is very environemtnally aware, working to ISO 14001 standards, careful about how it disposes of waste, working closely with J&G Environmental.
The Ipswich company is efficiency minded, exploiting the technology that will minimise downtime and maximise output. By eliminating manual ink filling its minders can spend their time on more critical tasks.
Mr Sadler describes the installation of the pumping system as having been “very easy indeed with a minimum amount of disruption to production”.
Ancient House Press is a web and sheetfed commercial printer working in the publishing, financial, tourism and retail sectors.
