The Press-Enterprise Hires New Director of Multimedia Sales Development and Promotes Dresner and Precie
Wednesday 30. January 2008 - John Kerr has recently been hired as the Director of Multimedia Sales Development, a brand new and key position, for The Press-Enterprise and PE.com. Kerr will be in charged with developing and executing multimedia product selling strategies to grow revenue and increase penetration and market share in targeted local and national advertising categories.
“We are excited about Mr. Kerr’s addition to the Press-Enterprise team. His role is pivotal as we transition from a newspaper and online sales team to a multimedia portfolio strategy. In addition to his sales responsibility John will play a key role in the testing and launching of innovative products and services that embrace the challenges of mobile and social media as we navigate through to the next generation media company,” said Ginger Neal, Vice President/Interactive for PE.com and The Press-Enterprise.
Kerr was previously the Director of Custom Publishing Group for the Inland Empire Newspaper Group. During his time at that job, he trained retail and classified sales representatives for three Inland Empire newspapers and launched a high-end glossy magazine in only 97 days. He has also held positions at Freedom Communications and the Tampa Tribune as Sales and Market Development Manager and Retail Sales Trainer, respectively.

This position will allow me to leverage my experience in multimedia packaging, sales training and product development to an organization that has demonstrated leadership in serving the needs of Inland Southern California. I am enthused about connecting local business in our communities with The Press-Enterprise’s readers and online users,” said Kerr.
Other changes at the Press-Enterprise are the new responsibilities for Don Dresner and Sam Precie of The Press-Enterprise. Dresner is now the Senior Director of Production, while Precie will now be the Director of Facilities, Maintenance and Capital Planning.
Dresner earned his new position due to his long-term leadership at various departments at The Press-Enterprise. He will now oversee all aspects of Pressroom, Offset Printing, SoCal Commercial Printing, Prepress, and Ad Services. Dresner’s former position was Director of Press Production.
Precie is now responsible for optimizing all company preventive maintenance programs – both facility and operations. In addition, Precie will be leading the company’s capital planning process, which includes the development of a three-year plan, as well as the justification and implementation of capital projects.
