Trend brings new Goss web press into production
Tuesday 22. January 2008 - Eight-unit M-600 system is 11th new Goss press
Trend Offset Printing, a full-service web printer with three U.S. locations, has continued its expansion with the addition of its 11th new Goss web press system in the past decade.
The eight-unit, two-web M-600 press is now in production at Trends Southeast facility in Jacksonville, Florida.
“As our business continues to grow, Goss technology continues to give us unique opportunities to deliver the highest levels of service and value to our customers,” said Bill Fleegle, general manager and vice president of sales for Trend Southeast. “The M-600 is world renowned as a premium publication press, and the new system adds capacity for Trend Southeast to print high-quality magazines, catalogs, annual reports and advertising material.”
Fleegle says the combination of four-page-wide and six-page-wide Goss presses at three strategically located Trend sites nationwide gives the company a common, versatile platform designed for exceptional print quality, productivity and makeready efficiency.
“We feel Goss International offers innovation and collaborative support that is unmatched among web offset suppliers and that complements our excellent press crews,” Fleegle said.
The new M-600 press at Trend Southeast is equipped with a Goss Contiweb CS splicer, Ecocool dryer and JF-55 folder as well as the Goss Web Center workflow and control package and Autoplate automatic plate changing system.
Trend press crews completed operator and maintenance training programs at the Goss International facility in New Hampshire.
Trend installed its first M-600 press in 1998 at its Los Alamitos, CA, plant. The company now operates Goss V-30, M-600, and gapless Sunday 2000 presses with a total of more than 100 printing units. With the new installation, Trend has the second-highest concentration of M-600 presses in North America.
“Trend Offset has continued to grow by setting the highest standards for print quality and productivity and then employing excellent people and advanced technology to meet those standards,” according to Goss International vice president Graham Trevett. “We appreciate the collaborative relationship we have established and the ongoing opportunities to support their success in California, Texas and Florida.”
Headquartered in Los Alamitos, California, and founded in 1986, privately held Trend Offset Printing has full-service, state-of-the-art heatset and non-heatset web printing facilities in California, Texas and Florida that service the publishing, retail and catalog industries. Using the most modern technology and strategically located plants, Trend provides high-quality printing and rapid turnaround times for more than 100 unique customers every month.
