Zebra Adds New Publicis Blueprint and August Media Titles TO ITS magazine repro PORTFOLIO

Monday 21. January 2008 - Award winning pre media specialist, Zebra, ended 2007 on a high having won additional reprographic contracts with Publicis Blueprint and August Media, both of whom are existing customers.

For Publicis Blueprint, Zebra is managing the pre press work for the video store Blockbuster’s monthly preview magazine; Butlins’ bi-annual holiday brochure and the newly launched hotel title, Mal Life, which is published quarterly. For August Media, Zebra has won the reprographic contract for a second Butlins title, the ‘Weekender’ magazine. These latest titles follow contract wins with both publishers earlier in 2007.

Daniel Simpson, sales director at Zebra comments: “To win additional titles from existing clients is a strong demonstration of our commitment to customer service and to ensuring we provide the very best quality and colour management expertise. 2007 was a very successful year for Zebra in terms of contract wins and company growth. Our principle vision for 2008 remains the same – continuing to exceed our customers’ expectations and provide them with an outstanding service. In 2008, we are looking forward to another successful year, where we can continue to demonstrate that pre press is still a highly-skilled profession that is dynamic and consistently evolving to meet the challenges the market presents.”

Melanie Clarke, Production Director at Publicis Blueprint reiterates this, saying: “The pre press element of our business plays a critical part in the production chain. It’s an area which demands a high level of skill to achieve the very best imagery and page consistency. We have been very impressed with the work Zebra has carried out for us over the past nine years, so much so, that it now undertakes the repro for nine of our sixteen titles. Zebra won the pre media work for our Blockbuster, Mal Life and Butlins magazines because of its commitment to quality and delivery. The titles have a consumer audience so it’s critical the images are sharp and appealing. For Mal Life in particular, it’s important the audience buys into a luxury lifestyle, so we have high expectations when it comes to re-touching colour critical files.”

Carl Davidson, managing editor at August Media also emphasises that Zebra’s ability to create sharp images and maintain professionalism won it the Butlins Weekender title. He says: “We chose Zebra to undertake the pre press work on our Butlins Weekender magazine because of its continual commitment to quality and ability to provide excellent results under pressure. We’ve developed a solid relationship with the Zebra team over the past year, so much so that it now manages the pre press activity for four of our titles. With customer magazines, images are fundamental to capturing interest, and it’s Zebra’s ability to manage and re-touch colour-critical files that makes it one of our chosen suppliers. However, it’s not just about getting the imagery precise, it’s also about working to very tight deadlines, and this is something Zebra does very well.”
