Oracle Names George H. Conrades to Board of Directors
Monday 21. January 2008 - Oracle Corporation (NASDAQ:ORCL) today announced the addition of George H. Conrades, executive chairman of Akamai Technologies, Inc., to Oracle's Board of Directors.
“We’re very excited to have George join our board,” said Oracle Chairman, Jeffrey O. Henley. “His extensive management experience in the technology industry will be a tremendous asset.”

Conrades becomes Oracle’s twelfth board member, joining Henley, Oracle CEO Lawrence J. Ellison, Jeffrey Berg, Raymond Bingham, Dr. Michael J. Boskin, Safra Catz, Hector Garcia-Molina, Jack Kemp, Don Lucas, Charles Phillips and Naomi Seligman.
Conrades has served as executive chairman of Akamai since 2005. Akamai provides services for accelerating and improving the delivery of content and applications over the Internet from live and on-demand streaming videos to conventional content on web pages to tools that help people transact business.
He was Akamai’s chairman and chief executive officer from 1999 to 2005. He also serves as venture partner of Polaris Venture Partners, Inc., an early stage investment company. Prior to joining Akamai in 1999, he served as executive vice president of GTE Corporation, chief executive officer of BBN Corporation and senior vice president and member of the corporate management board at IBM.
Along with his position with Akamai, Conrades also serves as a director of Cardinal Health, Inc., and Harley-Davidson, Inc.
