Suprasetter heads to Great Yarmouth Printing Services

Suprasetter A Series in production.

Thursday 10. January 2008 - Great Yarmouth Printing Services is installing its first Computer to Plate system, a move it believes will save it time and file storage space.

The company has opted to buy a Suprasetter A74 thermal device after reviewing the market thoroughly.

“Film and conventional plates are getting harder to find so we realised we would have to take this step sometime and we decided to update. The planners will retrain and we believe this will be a very plain and simple step,” says managing director Dick Claxton.

“We have dealt with Heidelberg for over 30 years and we have been very satisfied with their equipment and service. We have their presses and folders and with the CtP device we are also investing in a new Ti52 buckle folder, a direct replacement for an older model.”

The company will use Signastation imposition software and a new proofing device running Saphira materials from Heidelberg.

The company handles work for blue chip companies in London and the surrounding regions from its Great Yarmouth plant. Most of its work is spot rather than full colour, a niche which gives it a loyal following.

With negative storage being replaced by CD files the company will free up a lot of space and while it believes the price differential between conventional and CtP consumables will be negligible, the time saving will allow it to be even more responsive to its customers deadline demands.
