Blitz-Inform Holding seeking expanded business opportunities with first Goss Sunday press in Ukraine
Tuesday 08. January 2008 - New Sunday 4000 system chosen for unique gapless technology and proven support
Ukrainian-based contract printer Blitz-Inform Holding has installed a new 48-page Goss Sunday 4000 press to increase capacity, efficiency and opportunities in the high-pagination catalog and magazine sectors. The press is the first in the country with gapless blanket technology.
Alexej Usenko, vice-president at Blitz-Inform comments, “Many of our customers are large publishing groups, so we were looking to expand our services to meet the wider requirements of this market. With the innovative and unique gapless blanket technology, the Sunday 4000 press produces excellent quality and superior productivity. We currently have six 16-page presses that have served us very well but we expect the additional capacity and versatility will open up many new business opportunities for us.”
Confidence in the support of Heidelberg Web Solutions, the agent for Goss International commercial web presses in Ukraine, also played a part in the companys decision.
The new four-unit double-circumference Sunday press is equipped with Autoplate fully automatic plate changing technology and a Goss Contiweb FD flying paster for fully automated loading and unloading. Goss International also supplied an Ecocool dryer with integrated chill rolls for enhanced quality with lower operating costs and a PCF-3 pinless combination folder that provides a multitude of pagination and product format options. The combination of gapless blankets and pinless folding allowed Blitz-Inform Holding to select a shorter cut-off for considerable paper savings.
“We installed two M-600 presses in 2002 and 2003, and the ongoing support we have received has been excellent. The presses consistently and reliably produce the high quality print our customers have come to demand. With the new Sunday press we hope not only to meet but also to exceed all their expectations,” adds Alexej Usenko.
“Ukrainian printers are raising the bar in terms of print quality, the number of magazine titles and catalogs in the region is increasing, and run-length thresholds for web offset are continuing to come down,” confirms Jacques Navarre, vice president of sales for Goss International. “High print quality and speed combined with fast makereadies and low waste make the Sunday 4000 press an ideal option for run lengths spanning from below 10,000 copies to well into the millions of copies. This is the type of versatile, high-pagination efficiency that Blitz-Inform Holding requires.”
Founded in 1992, Blitz-Inform Holding employs nearly 4200 staff across 3 sites in Kiev and many representative offices in the country regions. The company prints a variety of products including labels, advertising material, flexible and cardboard packaging and commercial work, including magazines such as Cosmo and Karavan. The company exports many products across Eastern Europe and as far as Asia.
There are now more than 300 Goss Sunday presses installed in 24 countries worldwide.
