Muller Martini Takes the Flag at Indy

Wednesday 02. January 2008 - The Indianapolis Star, a Gannett Co., Inc. newspaper has entered into an agreement with Muller Martini Mailroom Systems, Inc. to expand their inserting capability at their off site production facility.

The paper, circulation 250,000 weekdays and 350,000 Sunday, will add a SLS3000 High Speed Inserter, three CombiStacks and sixteen AF300 Hopper Loaders. Additional capabilities of the system will be inkjet addressing with AddressLinc, bundle labeling, selective inserting with SelectLinc and control of the associated bundle distribution system. Bill Bolger, VP of Production commented, “The Indianapolis Star is looking forward to working with Muller Martini on a capacity and productivity improvement project for our production facility. During the first quarter of 2008 a new SLS3000 inserter system with 32 heads will be installed at our Pulliam Production Center. We chose this system based on the expectation that our already pretty efficient mailroom operation will embrace this technology and take us to the next level of productivity.” Amrish Thaker, President and CEO of Muller Martini Mailroom Systems echoed the positive sentiment adding, “We’re thrilled to bring yet another Gannett newspaper into the Muller Martini family. The Indianapolis Star project will be an important demonstration of Muller Martini’s capabilities and we look forward to meeting our customer’s expectations.” Installation is slated to commence in Spring of 2008.
